Who performs Endodontics?
All dentists, including your own general dentist, receive basic training in endodontics during their undergraduate course at dental school. General dentists, however, often refer patients needing root canal treatment to specialist Endodontists.
This is usually due to the complexity of the tooth, extent of infection or decay, or simply to ensure maximum health in the tooth (if expensive cosmetic or complex restorations are to be made).
Dr Watson completed a Masters programme at the UMDS London, and is recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Endodontics.
